Since early this year, we have been working closely with our partner, the ArtsyAfrica Academy, to launch a joint project in Uganda. Our mission: to give children and young people fair and barrier-free access to education.
In Uganda, school attendance is not free – families must pay fees and cover material costs each term. Without this support, many children are forced to drop out, limiting their future opportunities.
Currently, 15 children under ArtsyAfrica’s care cannot afford schooling. Many have lost one or both parents and face an uncertain future.
With Pateka e.V., we are committed to supporting 10 of these children by covering all school fees and materials for the rest of the year – ensuring they can continue to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.
The start of a new school year is an exciting time for most families. However, for one special family in Turkey, it presents a significant challenge. Following the tragic death of their mother, four siblings found a new home with their extended family. The family now consists of ten people who, despite their own struggles, have welcomed the orphans with open arms.
Thanks to the generous support of a sponsor, we were able to cover the initial costs for the school year. Still, the children will continue to need essential school supplies like notebooks, books, and sports equipment in the months and years to come.
To provide ongoing relief for the family, we also support them with 100 Euros per month for groceries.
